Stories From Here is an audio walking tour of Bankstown featuring recorded monologues written by local young people, like myself about our experiences in the area and the places that matter to us.
We were mentored by local author Kavita Bedford and director-dramaturg Finn Ó Branagáin. The stories were recorded and audio designed by All The Best from FBi Radio.
I wrote my story about Bankstown Library. I spent a lot of time there growing up and it felt like a second home that I went to when I didn’t know where else to go.
It helped my through a lot of tough times, having a safe public place to go to and feel comfort. I compared that comfort to how I always felt about my grandmother. She passed away while I was finishing high school but played such a huge role in inspiring me to want more for myself.
